meet the founder
Hello! I'm Hanna-Maija, a professional dancer and dance teacher, and I'm the driving force behind Studio Tambor. As both a teacher and a freelance artist, I extend a warm welcome to you to join my classes.
My profssional journey in the dance field began in 2002, and Studio Tambor emerged in 2010 from my deep passion for dance. Initially, we jammed for 5 years in a beautiful little studio in Katajanokka, before relocating to a larger space in Kaapelitehdas. Over the first 12 years, we offered over 30 weekly classes conducted by 7 skilled teachers.
In 2022, I made the decision to downsize and focus on smaller groups. This shift allowed me to channel more of my energy into the art of teaching and the essence of dance itself.
Currently, I teach 6 groups per week, fostering a studio environment where I know each student by name. My primary goal is to provide a safe space for practice and to ignite your passion for exploring the boundless beauty of dance.
